If statistically it were found that black people were more prone to get into accidents than whites, do you think insurance companies would charge black people more than white people. I think not! So why is it ok for them to be sexist?

Save More Green After Going Green with Cheap Car Insurance Rates

Chicago, IL (Vocus) August 1, 2009 -?

Now that the Cash for Clunkers bill, officially known as the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS), is up and running, consumers can also find cheaper car insurance premiums than with their older vehicle. CheapCarInsurance.org gives the latest details on CARS and explains ways consumers can find cheap car insurance rates.

CARS, signed into law by President Obama on June 24, is the 2009 program that is aimed at encouraging consumers to trade in their older, less fuel-efficient vehicles for one that is more fuel efficient by providing a $ 3,500 or $ 4,500 credit. Although older vehicles are generally less expensive to insure because of their lesser value, consumers can find cheaper car insurance premiums through additional discounts.

Men pay more for life and car insurance but women should not have to pay more for health insurance?

Question by Samuel Cameron: Men pay more for life and car insurance but women should not have to pay more for health insurance?

http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=1202434670357&Advocates_Say_Being_a_Woman_Is_Not_a_PreExisting_Condition

Isn’t this is a rather selective campaign for equality? .

Men pay higher premiums than women for life insurance and car insurance, but feminists don’t care about that. Feminists do care about insurance companies charging women higher health insurance premiums though. So they want to ban it.

Which means men pay higher premiums to make up the difference. In the end, this selective equality just amounts to one more government-enforced subsidization by men of women.

If we really have “Gender Equality”, why should us guys have to pay more for Car Insurance than women?

Question by Samian’s Nineteenth Account: If we really have “Gender Equality”, why should us guys have to pay more for Car Insurance than women?
Could you imagine if it were the other way around, and women had to pay higher rates than men?
There’d probably be legislation in Congress to stop it as we speak!!!

I’m comparing auto quotes online, and it’s ridiculous how much a 21 year old guy (me) has to pay just for my demographics.
@Colby: But Obama, our first Female president, is about to change that…

Q&A: Why does car insurance cost more for males than females?

Question by Sean: Why does car insurance cost more for males than females?
I’m guessing because we tend to drive more dangerously, but how is that legal being sexist like that?

Best answer:

Answer by righteousjohnson
Men have more accidents. They drive more aggressively, buy faster cars, and they put more miles on them.
It’s not sexism, it’s just arithmetic. Insurance companies use things called actuarial tables, which are solely based on the laws of probability.

Why do men pay more for car insurance than women?

Question by matt w: Why do men pay more for car insurance than women?
This fact is surely sexism based on pure stereotypes rather than relevant information such as the driver’s history. Doesn’t this just portray the stereotype that men are more irresponsible or ‘risk takers’ when it comes to driving? Why not base car insurance on ethnicity?
thanks for the answers everyone. But the question is more relevant to stereotypes based on statistics: is this fair? Obviously it this were to happen based on one’s ethnicity, then everyone would complain about it, and why shouldn’t they? It’s racism: and this seems sexism to me. Input?
